Agents to uncover thieving employees in the Czech Republic
Food and electronic retail chains as well as other companies often hire special agents to help uncover thefts committed by their own employees.
According to British Center for Retail Research last year, the
stolen goods worth almost 8.5 billion crowns in shops, leading the
standings of European countries in this respect. This is why retail
chains have decided to defend against "internal" thefts by
special detectives who infiltrate the employees, win their trust and
possibly prove their criminal activities.
The agent pretends to be a rank-and-file employee, for instance a
cashier, and he receives a regular salary for this post. The other
salary, some 50,000 crowns, goes to the security agency that provides
such agents.
