Soft drink association: the sugar and calorie content of soft drinks in Hungary has almost halved
Over the past ten years, the average sugar and calorie content of soft drinks and juices in Hungary has decreased significantly, by 43 percent, following the voluntary commitments of the member companies of the Hungarian Mineral Water, Juice and Soft Drinks Association, the association told MTI on Tuesday.
They wrote that with the redesign of existing recipes and the introduction of new, innovative products, the proportion of reduced-calorie and calorie-free drinks rose from 23 percent to 57 percent within the non-alcoholic beverage category between 2010 and 2020.
In addition, companies are encouraging consumers to consume consciously so that more and more people choose low-energy or calorie-free drinks, they added. (MTI)
