World Tourism Organization: tourism closed the worst year in its history In 2020
According to a published report, there were one billion fewer trips last year than in 2019. By comparison, in 2009, the downturn due to the global economic crisis was 4 percent.
The decline hit Asia and the Pacific the hardest, with an 84 percent drop in tourism and 300 million fewer passengers arriving. In Europe, a 71 percent drop was measured. The number of travelers was 500 million less than a year before. (MTI)
