Tourism agency: conference tourism has grown dynamically last year

A total of 4816 conferences were held in Hungary in 2018, which is 13 percent more than in the previous year – according to the 2018 report of the Hungarian Tourist Agency1s (MTÜ) congress office.

According to the communication published on the website of MTÜ, 3361 of the last year’s so-called professional tourism events were organized by Hungarian and 1455 by international customers.

The number of internationally organized conferences has increased by nearly 35 percent, compared to 2017. (MTI)
