Tourist Agency: tourism revenue increased by 10 percent in January
In January, tourists spent about 30 billion HUF for domestic accommodation, and while the number of guest nights remained almost the same as in the previous year, the hotels were able to increase their income by almost 10 percent, compared to the same period of last year – the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) announced on the basis of the data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) released on Wednesday.
The announcement sent to MTI highlights that after last year’s record, the number of guests in Hungary continued to increase in early 2019. Compared to January 2018, the number of domestic and foreign visitors increased further, with the number of guests reaching almost 650,000 in the first month of the year. (MTI)
