Tourism developments are starting in Sándorfalva
Tourism developments are starting in Sándorfalva in the Csongrád-Csanád county, as part of the EU-funded investment, the eco-park showcasing the natural beauty of the wetlands will be expanded, the roof of the Pallavicini castle will be renovated and a new bicycle rest area will be created, the municipality informed MTI.
According to the announcement, the HUF 319 million costs of the developments will be covered by EU support, and the works can begin after the execution contracts are signed.
The eco-park showcasing the natural beauty of wetlands was completed three years ago in the neighborhood of the Nádastó Leisure Park, which is popular both as a beach and as a fishing spot. In the coming months, this will be expanded with a 130-meter-long boardwalk over the water, the end of which will also function as a viewing point thanks to its almost five-meter elevation. At the end of the walkway, a widening area of almost 80 square meters will be created, from which visitors can observe waterfowl and other living creatures. As part of the development, a floor will be added to the barn belonging to the park, where groups of visitors can gather or hold smaller community events.
The defining building of Sándorfalva is the Pallavicini Castle, completed in 1882, in which a new exhibition space will be created after the renovation of the currently unused attic. The slab structure is strengthened statically, and a new staircase is built from the mezzanine floor to the attic. In the area of almost 450 square meters, new exhibition and event spaces, as well as a guest room with the necessary service rooms, will be created.
The cycle path connecting Szeged with Ópusztaszer and the Körösök valley leads through Sándorfalva. For cycling tourism, a place suitable for quality relaxation will therefore be established in Újszentes utca. On the lot, there will be an outdoor bicycle storage room for twenty bicycles, a bicycle rest area with a usable floor area of more than 120 square meters will be built, in which hikers will be welcomed by an indoor reception area, a mounting stand, an e-bike charging facility and a washroom.
