More than ten million – MOL has reached a milestone in coffee sales
MOL, which is one of the largest coffee chains in the country, also achieved a significant achievement on an industrial level: the ten millionth coffee was sold this year in the MOL Fresh Corner Hungarian network. At filling stations that are turning into complex service centers, more and more emphasis is being placed on quality gastronomic experiences, and thanks to the spectacularly growing clientele and consumption, we can also learn more and more about the coffee consumption habits of Hungarians. It is clear from the data: Hungarians are looking for coffee at all times of the day and buy one every 2 seconds at MOL filling stations.
People on the road drink the most coffee between 8 and 9 in the morning: MOL sells 10 percent of the total amount during this period. Although the demand for coffee decreases after 9 o’clock, there is no time of day when guests do not need refreshment – this is also evident from the coffee traffic statistics of MOL’s Fresh Corners in Hungary, among other things. One of the largest coffee chains in the country has now examined the data in extreme detail on the occasion that they passed the ten millionth cup of coffee in sales, and instructive conclusions can be drawn for the entire market from such a large sample.
Perhaps it is surprising, but the weekend does not represent a drop in coffee consumption either, the absolute peak of consumption so far – on August 5 this year – fell on a Saturday. The system gathered most of the information about the habits of MOL Move users: they drink coffee at Fresh Corners an average of 12 times a year. There are also astonishing individual achievements: there is a MOL Move customer who drank coffee 1,635 times in one year, which means an average of five coffees a day. Incidentally, the ten millionth portion was served at the Fresh Corner at kilometer 22 of the M1 highway, where the customer had a long coffee. The network itself sells more than 32,500 coffees per day, which corresponds to approximately 1,350 per hour or 23 portions per minute. If we project all of this onto the opening hours, the counter already shows nearly 2,040 servings per hour, so consumers buy coffee every two seconds at MOL filling stations.
