Lidl: more than 150 stores
Lidl operates Europe’s biggest food discount store chain that is present in 27 countries. Lidl entered Hungary in 2004 with 12 stores and a logistics centre. Today they have 152 discount stores, 3 logistic centres and more than 3,500 employees all over Hungary. Lidl stores sell more than 1,400 enlisted items and the retail chain pays special attention to Hungarian suppliers when purchasing these goods. Lidl’s philosophy is to keep and enhance customer satisfaction from the moment a store opens. Besides weekly changing food promotions, the company also does non-food product promotions, which feature textiles, plants, clothing products and furnishings.
