We know how young people drank this summer: in the spirit of fair play and responsible drinking
Of course, there are those who think it’s “to a small extent medicine, to a large extent medicine”, or who “drink for a week, exercise for a week”, but the majority remain conscious and “get used to stopping” for a drink or two – the Hungarian Alcoholic Beverage Association and Product Council reveals from the statements and comments received in the content created as part of this summer’s campaign, “Fair play, responsible drinking”.
As we learned from the feedback from those watching the sports broadcasts, this summer cocktails were the most popular: the main favorites are gin and tonic, aperitif, vermouth, and prosecco mixes, and the classics: (craft) beer, spritz, and short ones refreshed with soft drinks. According to those interviewed, the main thing is: the company and the fans! Alcohol is more of a secondary character. In the campaign, content producers Marci Miskovits, Viktória Viczián and Balázs Horváth also contributed to the success of responsible drinking this summer.
“As an organization dealing with spirits, we, together with our members, have a particular responsibility to raise awareness: if someone chooses to drink alcohol, it is their decision to do so in moderation. For years, we have been trying to make this known to as wide a circle as possible, in as many different ways and as colorfully as possible, and to have a positive effect on those who used to drink. This year, we focused on viewers of sports broadcasts. For this, we also asked for the help of our popular ambassadors and influencers, so that with their creative ideas and the involvement of many followers, as well as by visiting matches and sports game screenings, addressing the fans there, they can pass on our message and create a dialogue, so that it can truly be in the spirit of #fairplay and #responsible drinking the summer”
– said the director of the association, András Nagy, at the end of the MSZSZT’s summer campaign.
Content producer Marci Miskovits first went to the broadcasts of the UEFA and then the Olympic Games with his crew to talk to the viewers of the sports broadcasts in his YouTube videos about how, who cheers with whom and what and how much they drink at this time. Although he himself remained in the role of the interviewer throughout, he also shared his own opinion: “I think it’s important to know our own limits. Everyone’s measure is different, some whose bodies can handle more, some less. Just have self-awareness”. And he didn’t leave the Hungarians’ performance unsaid either: “I think we achieved quite good results, we have very skilled athletes.”He also agreed with the interviewees who professed moderation, that “it should be done this way”, think about the next day, tomorrow is still a day.
