Knowledge transfer and agricultural digitalization: Széchenyi István University and Magro.hu sign cooperation agreement
The Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár of Széchenyi István University and Magro.hu, one of Hungary’s leading agricultural marketplaces and news portals, have recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening knowledge transfer and agricultural digitalization, as well as promoting a closer connection between science and practical agriculture. Through the partnership, the parties contribute to the development of agriculture and young professionals.

In this context, Magro.hu provides a platform for the broad presentation of the university’s scientific and innovation achievements. Professional articles are published on the portal every month, which present the research, developments and innovations taking place at the institution in a clear manner. Among other things, the university provides Magro.hu with the opportunity at its events for its representatives to give professional presentations and obtain first-hand information. “This is a truly special area among our corporate collaborations, as we form a bridge between science and the economy with one of the most visited agricultural portals in Hungary. Through the portal, we can also address new companies, which can indirectly help expand our relationships,” emphasized Dr. Tamás Tóth, Dean of the Faculty. “Magro.hu is a modern, dynamically developing portal that is able to effectively reach various industry players – farmers, food companies, suppliers, logistics service providers, retail chains, processors and state actors. The cooperation provides an opportunity to utilize the research and innovation results of the faculty and to increase the level of knowledge transfer. Our goal is to contribute to all this not only with professional studies, but also by presenting the products and technologies developed by the university,” added Dr. Attila Péter Kiss, the faculty’s deputy dean for innovation. “We are building an ecosystem where scientific results can be quickly delivered to farmers. Our goal is to convey these in a form that can be applied in practice, thereby making production more efficient and domestic agriculture more competitive. We are convinced that the cooperation with Széchenyi István University will contribute to the further development of knowledge transfer and agricultural digitalization, and will promote the spread of innovative, sustainable agricultural practices,” said István Németh, CEO of Magro.hu.
