Cadbury tripled
The British confectionery company – which is Europe's second largest confectionery group – reported a 313 million pounds net profit in the first half of 2009, increased almost threefold last year’s smilar period’s profit of 113 million.
The manufacturer of Dairy Milk chocolate, Trident chewing gums and Halls cough sweets increased its turnover by 13 percent to 2.8 billion pounds, after consumers spend more time at home, because of the crisis. The company expects a 4-6 percent turnover growth. The greatest increase in the sales were chocolates – reports Index.
