ÉFOSZ: the health status of the Hungarian population was not affected by the introduction of the public health product tax
According to the Food Industries National Association (ÉFOSZ), altough the consumption of products affected by the public health product tax (NETA) declined in recent years, the introduction of the tax did not substantially affected the nutrient intake and the Hungarian population’s health status so the organization continues to urge the deletion of the tax.
According to the statement of the organization sent to MTI on Tuesday, the Food Industries National Association (ÉFOSZ) responded to the news published in the press, that it is a health-policy success that the energy drink manufacturers reduced the taurin content of their caffeine products. (MTI)
