Employers would continue to expand staff cautiously

In the current uncertain economic environment, domestic employers plan to expand their current workforce by an average of 3 percent in the first quarter of 2021, according to ManpowerGroup’s Labor Market Forecast published today. Only 22 percent of companies expect their recruitment activity to return to pre-pandemic levels within a year.
Based on the responses of more than 500 Hungarian employers surveyed, careful headcount planning will take place at the beginning of next year at Hungarian companies as well. Following the planned 5 percent headcount reduction for the third quarter, this will now be the second quarter, when seasonal effects will again be measured by a moderate 3 percent recruitment intent in most sectors.
