They are still looking for beginner programmers, the recording market is now the digitizing SME sector
Although Codecool has felt the reduction in the number of staff at the multis, as Hungary’s leading programming school, they are still able to place a large number of professionals who have graduated from them. At the same time, the proportion of smaller employers in the hiring market has increased, so Codecool has announced its new scholarship program to make high-quality training available to even more talented applicants, thus supporting them in starting their new IT career.
Although the drop in demand on the labor market was noticeable after 2022, which can be attributed to the peak year, the number of placed, newly qualified students remained in balance with the needs of the recruiting market: “On average, 11 of our students find work at our partner companies in Hungary per month, which is only 10-20 percent less than in previous years from his numbers,” says József Boda, Codecool’s founder and managing director.
At the same time, the Codecool team needs to invest more energy in job scouting. In addition to the multinationals that take on larger contingents and the service centers that proactively seek supplies, small and medium-sized companies are an increasingly prominent segment. “In this sector, they are mainly looking for employees for digitalization projects started during the covid period, to complement the existing IT teams,” says Boda. The most popular position is that of DevOps engineers, but companies are also looking for manual or even automatic software testers, business data analysts, project managers and C++ developers in large numbers.
