France remains the world's number one tourist destination
Last year, about 83 million foreign tourists visited France, which remains the world's number one tourist destination – the French tourism ministry announced on Tuesday.
With the new record in the number of foreign tourists, France maintained its leading position in 2012, while the industry goes through a change with the appearance of new customers – can be read in the ministry's statement. In 2011, 81.4 million foreign visitors visited France. The increase in 2012, was due to the rise in the number of tourists arrived from mainly European and Asian countries. From America and Africa less tourist were received than in 2012. Most tourist came from Germany. (MTI)
