France remains the number one destination for foreign tourists
Nearly 83 million foreign tourists visited France last year. This is a decrease compared to the previous year’s 85 million foreign tourists, but with this result France still remains the number one tourist destination in the world rankings – the French Government announced on Friday.
Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said at a conference in Biarritz southwest France: “France has decreased as a destination, but the first estimates on the numbers of foreign visitors show that France is still the world’s number one tourist destination,” in front of the United States and Spain – he added.
