There is a need for a strong EU common agricultural policy with adequate resources
The EU’s common agricultural policy must serve quality, natural and healthy food production. Hungary supports GMO-free production, while the farming policy must also help ensure the livelihood of the rural population – Fazekas Sándor Minister of Agriculture told MTI on Thursday at a conference.
Fazekas Sándor said that Hungary is willing to increase the contributions of the Member States but does not support co-financing, ie the financing of the individual agricultural policy programs according to the country’s financial situation. This would overset the common agricultural policy and thus create different national solutions and financial backgrounds for farmers, which would have a distortion effect on competition.
