Starbucks to close another 300 stores

Starbucks, will cut 6,700 jobs and close 300 more stores after reporting first-quarter profit that fell more than analysts estimated.

 Last quater company had only
USD 64.3 million nettó sales, this is almost one third of last
years USD 208.1 million.

Starbucks faces problems on its biggest
market in the USA, where the coffee consumption decreased radicaly,
while the company opened to much new cafes. The company had a total
of 16,875 stores, including franchised locations, as of December
28th.

Also competitors made Starbucks' life
hard, last year McDonald's expanded its McCafé chain all over
the world.
