Growing gap between livestock and vegetable product prices
In April 2016 agricultural production prices increased by 0.4 percent from the level of April 2015. This rise was driven by the price of vegetable products growing by 4.2 percent. Livestock/products of animal origin prices fell 6.2 percent from the base period level. Cereal crops cost 1.6 percent more and fruits became 3 percent less expensive. Milk’s price dropped 13 percent and was purchased for HUF 71 from farmers – HUF 5 less than in
March 2016.
