Spar Austria continouses to develope
According to reports in the local press, Austrian grocery retailer SPAR (Austria) plans to invest up to EUR500 million (USD720 million) in 2009.
Half of the sum in the home market of
Austria and the other half in the retailer's overseas markets
(Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia). According to
a statement from Chairman and CEO Gerhard Drexel, SPAR (Austria) has
not been hit yet by the difficult economic environment, but has shown
increasing sales in both Austria and overseas.
