The number of small breweries in the Czech Republic increased further
In the Czech Republic, the number of mini breweries was growing rapidly in 2017, exceeded 400 at the end of December. According to the Czech-Moravian Federation of Breweries 50 new mini breweries were opened last year and some others will start production shortly.
At the beginning of the nineties, only one mini brewery was operating in Prague; the U Fleku. Over the past quarter century nearly half thousand new mini breweries have been established nationwide, but more than 40 of them have failed and have ceased their production. However, the production of several mini breweries has exceeded 10,000 hectoliters. (Kokes János, MTI)
