The number of subsidized producer groups continued to increase
The priority goal of the Ministry of Agriculture is to facilitate the adaptation of the production and performance of recognized producer groups to market requirements, as well as the joint distribution of goods, and for this purpose it supports the producer groups, said Zsolt Feldman, the State Secretary responsible for agriculture and rural development of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The state secretary reminded: out of the support requests submitted to the VP3-9.1.1-20 call for the creation of producer groups and organizations, another 8 requests, in the amount of about HUF 1.5 billion, were supported. As he put it, the producer groups have the opportunity to obtain tender funds in two support rounds based on the Rural Development Program, which they can use to cover the costs related to the establishment and operation of their organizations. So far, HUF 14.29 billion in subsidies have been awarded to 100 producer groups. The support program provides an opportunity to ensure the supply of bulk buyers with goods of uniform quality and processing through the cooperation of the producers, and the cooperation gives the producers the opportunity to influence the market, thereby achieving higher income.
Producer groups and producer organizations can count on support in the future – now within the framework of the KAP Strategic Plan – for establishment and operation, for this purpose HUF 13.4 billion is available based on the KAP Strategic Plan – said Zsolt Feldman.
