From April 2025, JYSK’s distribution center in Ecser will also supply 91 stores in Austria, becoming the seventh country to do so, and from June, online orders from the neighboring country will also be processed here. More than 11,000 products are stored in the Ecser center, and the utilization of the complex has increased by 17 percent by serving the Austrian market, currently standing at around 80 percent. The expansion is also a significant milestone in terms of employment: more than 20 new warehouse and office jobs have been created with the addition of the new market.

From spring 2025, in addition to Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, JYSK stores in Austria will also receive their goods from Ecser, and from the beginning of June, online orders for the Austrian market will also be processed from here.

The center, which now supplies 7 countries and a total of 415 stores, began operating 3 years ago and is now not only one of the largest and most modern distribution centers in Europe, but also a defining element of the regional logistics of the Scandinavian-rooted department store chain. 388 JYSK employees work at the logistics center in Ecser, and at least 500 truckloads of goods are transported from here every week, and more than 270,000 cubic meters of additional products are stored here, meaning it is currently operating at 80 percent utilization.

“The distribution center in Ecser has now become a key regional base for JYSK’s European logistics, and serving Austria further strengthens this role. We continue to work to ensure that our products reach both physical and online customers on time – now covering 7 countries. The size of the capacities is clearly demonstrated by the fact that 500 trucks leave the distribution center every week, approximately 271 thousand cubic meters of goods are located in the 143 thousand square meter base, where we use more than 160 thousand storage spaces – and thus the utilization rate is still only 80%,”

said Jaroslaw Sobczyk, head of JYSK’s logistics center in Ecser.
