The three-month unemployment rate further decreased
In the three months between February and April 2024, the number of employed persons (age group 15-74) was 4,739,000, 41,000 more than a year earlier.
The number of people working at foreign sites stabilized at over 100,000 people in 2023, between February and April it was 109,800 people, 11,000 more than a year ago, and the number of public employees decreased by 8,000 to 62,000 in one year. The employment rate in the 15-64 age group, which is particularly important in the EU methodology, rose to 74.9% between February and April. The indicator stood at 74.3% a year ago and 74.7% in the previous three months. The number of unemployed people was 224.2 thousand people in the average of the three months examined, an increase of 27 thousand people in one year, while compared to the previous three months, their number decreased by almost 5 thousand people. The unemployment rate calculated according to the international methodology was 4.5% between February and April, compared to 4.0% a year earlier, but compared to the previous three months, the figure was 0.1 percentage points lower. There were 230,600 registered jobseekers in the NFSZ register in April, 5,000 less than a year ago. The number of jobseekers decreased by 2.1% in one year and by 2.3% in one month. In April 2024, 102.9 thousand job opportunities were available, of which 78.6 thousand remained empty by the end of the month.
