Land sales by auction will continue
Another parcel of land exceeding 10 hectares may be given to the farmers. With the measure, the Ministry of Agriculture supports small and medium-sized farmers and local producers in getting land. As in the previous procedures, anyone can make a purchase offer for the affected areas, taking into account the conditions contained in the law.
The coronavirus epidemic, the Russian-Ukrainian war and the erroneous Brussels sanctions have highlighted the fact that food supply is a strategic issue, one of the bases of which is agricultural land. Despite the challenges facing Hungarian agriculture, thanks to the dedicated work and diligence of farmers, safe food is always on the table of Hungarian families. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture supports the activities of the actors of the sector with all possible means, one of the basic means of which is the development of property policy measures that take into account the needs of farmers.
In the second phase of the auctions, almost 14,000 hectares of land are offered for purchase
In addition to arable, meadow, and pasture cultivated areas, land parcels with mixed cultivation are also advertised.
The auction notices are available on the website of the National Land Center from September 15. The announcements provide precise information on the dates and locations of the auctions. The auctions will take place between October 16, 2023 and October 31, 2023. As a contributor to the NFK, the auctions are conducted by the capital and county government offices in the presence of NFK representatives and notaries. The data of the properties designated for auction, as well as the auction notice containing the registration and the date and location of the auction, are posted in the county and district office premises of the Government Offices, as well as at the auction locations.
Some detailed rules of the auction have changed
In order to conduct the auction procedure quickly and efficiently and to make it transparent, with the amendment of the government decree on the detailed rules for the utilization of parcels of land belonging to the National Land Fund, which entered into force on May 15, 2023, some of the detailed rules of the auction procedure were changed, which were highlighted by farmers who wish to participate in the auctions or exercise the right of pre-emption they require attention. Lists of land to be sold and sales announcements are now available on the website of the National Land Center.
