BudapestGO continues to develop: the March application update brings more convenient use

BKK’s goal is to make public transport more attractive to as many people as possible, which is why the company is constantly researching customer needs and shaping its developments in light of feedback.

In March, new features will be added to the application that will make users’ everyday travel easier. As part of the updates arriving on March 19-20, the widget will become more convenient to use, and will now be available in two sizes, allowing you to place the ticket or pass on your phone’s home screen more flexibly. On Android devices, the widget size can also be freely adjusted within certain limits, even beyond the two sizes. Another new feature is that on both platforms (Android, iOS) you can select the fare product you want to display outside the application, directly on the widget. In addition, on iOS devices, quick buttons accessible from the lock screen will also appear as a new convenience feature, with which you can launch the application, the boarding function, scan the code or present the ticket in one step.

The updates also bring additional changes to simplify everyday use: for tickets valid for less than 24 hours, the application will notify you 15 minutes before expiration, for products valid for 24 hours or more but less than a week, 3 hours before expiration, while for tickets or passes valid for a week or longer, the application will notify you 12 hours before expiration. Furthermore, in the future, BudapestGO will always use the Hungarian time zone for planning, so even when used from abroad, the real Budapest time data will be displayed.

During the installation of the improvements, some functions of BudapestGO will be available to a limited extent for a short period. During the planned maintenance, sales and ticket and pass validation will be temporarily unavailable, but the application can still be used for travel planning. To continue using the app after the updates, users must download the latest version of the app (version 6.6.2 for Android, version 6.6.0 for iOS) by March 25th. If they do not do so, the app will require the latest version to continue using it on March 26th.
