Non-alcoholic and single-flavour pralines strengthened their position
In December 2009-May 2010 praline retail sales diminished by 19 percent in volume and by 13 percent in value, in comparison with the same period in 2009. The size of the six-month market topped HUF 10 billion. Volume-weighted average price in December-January was HUF 4,048/kg; in April-May this changed to HUF 3,792 – which was 9 percent higher than in last April. In terms of volume Nielsen measured a 28-percent share for private label pralines (up 2 percent from last year), in the April-May period. From value sales non-alcoholic pralines carved out 84 percent. The ratio of single-flavour and multi-flavour pralines was 71 to 29 percent, in both value and volume.
