Will beer become more expensive in 2024?
The developments in the small-scale beer market can provide good news for beer lovers, as the price reduction of malt and hops does not justify further price increases, a group of experts claims. The stabilization of beer prices is further strengthened by the fact that the biggest waves of the energy crisis have already subsided, and it is easier to handle the increase in packaging materials, transport costs and labor wages.
However, according to the information previously spread in the news, many breweries are planning price increases, but the market players are trying to moderate the price increase at a level of around 8-10 percent. Zsolt Gyenge, the owner of the Fóti Craft Brewery, calls the need for a price increase groundless, contradicting the arguments about inflation, the weak forint and the rise in the price of raw materials.
