Auchan To Expand Store Network in Portugal

The French hypermarket giant plans to open three new outlets in Portugal by the end of 2008, taking its store network to 22 outlets in the country.
A report in local business news portal
Agencia Financeira said the new outlets will be opened under the Pao
de Acucar supermarket banner, and will be located in Faro, Caldas da
Rainha and Guarda.
With this expansion, Auchan expects to end
2008 with a total retail space of 144,000 sq m, including 18 Jumbo
hypermarkets and four Pao de Acucar supermarkets.
