ALDI is implementing the largest permanent price reduction in its Hungarian operations to date. Starting from March 5, the supermarket chain will reduce the prices of more than 600 products – food and non-food items – by an average of 10% over several weeks. With this step, almost every second product in ALDI’s permanent offer will become cheaper in the first quarter of 2026.

ALDI has already significantly reduced the prices of more than 500 products – fresh pork and chicken, dairy products and sweets – in the first two months of the year. The discount chain is consistently passing on the advantage of more favorable purchasing conditions to customers, so from March 5, the prices of more than 600 new products will be reduced. As a result, a total of more than 1,000 products will become cheaper in all ALDI stores in Hungary in the first quarter of 2026.

The March price reductions will affect meat, fish and cold cuts, as well as frozen vegetables and fruits, various dairy products, bakery products, many frozen products and staple foods. In addition, the prices of various beverages, household cleaning products, stationery and cosmetics, as well as pet food and pet care products will also be lower than before.

“In the first quarter of this year, we are implementing a historic price reduction: for the first time in 18 years, we have the opportunity to implement such a comprehensive, permanent price reduction, which affects nearly half of our permanent offer in three months. Since January, more than 500 of our products have become cheaper, and starting from March 5, over several weeks, approximately 600 additional products will be available at an average price of 10% lower. This not only provides substantial assistance to Hungarian households in their everyday lives, but – through the reduction of consumer prices – can also contribute to reducing inflation at the national economic level,” said Bernhard Haider, national managing director of ALDI Hungary Food Bt.
