Food inflation in Turkey slowed slightly in April
In Turkey, annual inflation slowed to 37.86 percent, the lowest since December 2021, from 38.10 percent in March, slightly better than the 38 percent in the average analyst expectations.
Inflation in Turkey decreased for the 11th consecutive month in April.
Price increases slowed mainly in the case of food and non-alcoholic beverages to 36.09 percent from 37.12 percent in March. The annual price increase in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products decreased from 46.7 percent to 33.85 percent.
Core inflation was also the lowest since December 2021, at 37.12 percent in April, after 37.42 percent in March.
Consumer prices rose 3 percent in April compared to March, when they rose 2.46 percent.
Analysts had expected higher monthly inflation of 3.1 percent in April.
