The popularity of wine auctions is unbroken
While in Hungary the smaller companies are organizing wine auctions, in abroad, especially in Europe, North America and increasingly in Asia, the leading auction houses, specialist institutions are organizing them. The collector's wines are not only serve for consumption but also for investment in the past decades, because the prices are sharply increasing.
In addition to wine, other drinks, for example whiskeys and champagnes also appearing occasionally in the offers.
The turnover of the larger auction houses during a live auction is usually around several hundred thousand to ten million dollars, while the sales ratio often larger than 90 percent. In the peak season of the last year, often 100 percent sales ratios were occurred. (portfolio.hu.)
