TOP 500 regional companies: Hungary is in the forefront in terms of revenue growth
The Central and Eastern European region's Top 500 companies generated a turnover of 572 billion euros in 2014, which exceeds even half of the aggregated 2014 nominal GDP of those economies. The year 2014 was finally one without a major disaster.
After years of recession and ongoing difficulties, the development was positive. There is finally an improvement, not as strong as economists hoped for, but stable. The average GDP growth was 2.5 percent in 2014, which is nearly double the rate of 2013 (1.3 percent).
According to a comparative analysis of the region's companies of Hungary finished second behind Poland, and ahead of the Czech Republic. The 73 Hungarian companies on the Top 500 list increased their revenues by 5.6 percent, surpassing the regional average. (MTI)
