Mass cuttings due to the African swine fever in Lithuania
Mass cuttings were ordered in Lithuania to fight against the African swine fever. The sickness that is dangerous for pigs was detected on a farm in north east Lithuania part of the Baltic countries, a pig farm in the harmless disease showed up – the spokesman of the operating company, the Danish Idavang company announced.
19 thousand pigs will be cut off. The plant – according to the health authorities – is located near the Latvian an Belarus borders. Previously, news were reported about the vaccination of five pigs in Eats Poland. However, the animals were killed, and 37 pig farms located in the border area is placed under quarantine.
