The Globus canning factory in Debrecen has announced significant staff cuts in order to reduce operating costs. The company was forced to make this difficult decision due to the challenges in the European canning market and the global economic situation, writes VG.
Closure rumors denied
According to recent news, the Debrecen plant may be closed, which was sparked by Facebook posts. However, Nándor Szabó, the CEO of Globus Canning Industry Zrt., firmly denied the closure of the factory, but confirmed that a group of staff cuts will be made due to economic challenges.
The cuts affect 75 employees, especially those working in the production and maintenance departments. According to the CEO, the decision is essential for the long-term sustainability of the company.
