Cone-shaped pizza
Pizza is undoubtedly one of the most successful fast food varieties, but in the to-go format it was prepared to no avail. In 2004, an Italian company launched Konopizza – mostly with traditional toppings, but the new cone-shaped pizza did not conquer Europe. The Spanish introduced their variety at New York’s Fancy Food Show in June; their take on the cone-shaped pizza is called Coneinn. Nestlé recently put Hot Pockets on the market, a convenience product that can be prepared in a microwave oven. There are numerous innovative ideas but these varieties still have a hard time competing against pitas or tortillas and fajitas.
