Smurfit Kappa designs egg-protector pack for E-commerce delivery
Smurfit Kappa has designed a unique packaging solution to enable Granja Mantiqueira, a Latin American egg provider, to enter the E-commerce channel. The unique packaging keeps the eggs fresh and secure throughout the supply chain. From a sustainability perspective, a compact form allows for more packs to be transported. The boxes are marketed as being 100 percent recyclable, biodegradable and renewable.
Granja Mantiquiera has launched a new “Egg Club” service, through which consumers can order eggs online for home delivery in Brazil. The company enlisted Smurfit Kappa to come up with a solution, aware that packaging plays a critically important role for the E-commerce channel, especially for a product as fragile as eggs.
