Egg Association: egg production in Hungary should be increased
The egg production in Hungary needs to be increased to increase the level of self-sufficiency level in egg production from about 50 percent to 75 percent – the Vice President of the Hungarian Egg Producers Association said at the World Day of Eggs on Friday in Budaörs.
Kele Attila said that since 2013, large-scale egg production has been growing steadily, last year it reached 1.2 billion units. This amount did not exceed 1 billion in the previous year. In the first eight months of this year, production was slightly lower than in the previous year, due to avian influenza and the fipronil scandal, he added. (MTI)
