Egg Challenge: a Spanish-Hungarian-French egg consumption promotion campaign was launched with EU funds
The Hungarian Poultry Product Council (BTT) and its Spanish and French sister organizations (INPROVO and SNIPO) won European Union support for the promotion of egg consumption between 2023 and 2025. This project provides an opportunity to properly communicate to consumers the importance of egg consumption in a sustainable and balanced diet, as well as to further improve consumer perception of eggs.
Although the campaign was launched for the general public on May 29, 2023, the official opening of the campaign took place on October 11, 2023, where Dr. Attila Csorbai, President and Director of BTT, welcomed the participants with his opening speech. He said that the Poultry Product Council has two trademarks: the Hungarian Poultry Trademark and the Koronás Egg trademark. Both the image of the sector and the consumer perception of the sector’s products have been improved by these trademarks and the classic marketing programs associated with them in recent years. However, in his opinion, the world has changed significantly. Recognizing this change, in the last 5-6 years, the Association of Hungarian Egg Hybrid Breeders and Egg Producers has tried to gain as much popularity as possible for eggs among consumers in the online space, and to dispel misconceptions among consumers, an example of which is the launch of its own Facebook page. Following this tradition, in 2021, with international cooperation, the Association started organizing a program supported by the European Union, which was successful and the program was launched this year under the name Egg Challenge, the results of which are very encouraging.
