Waberer’s acquired majority ownership in Pannon-Busz-Rent Kft.
Waberer’s International Plc. has entered the passenger transport market after acquiring a 51 percent stake in Pannon-Busz-Rent Kft., the international transport and logistics service company informed MTI on Monday.
According to the information, under the transaction announced in February and closed on Monday, the company has acquired an option to acquire an additional 49 percent stake in Pannon-Busz-Rent, which can take place in 2027.
Pannon-Busz-Rent provides employee bus services to companies within the passenger transport market, as well as train replacement and special bus services. Its customers include industrial and agricultural companies as well as companies interested in public transport.
The acquisition fits into the company’s medium-term strategy revised in the spring, which aims to diversify Waberer’s activities and enter new markets that provide growth opportunities, they wrote.
The company will continue to look for acquisition opportunities in the logistics, warehousing and passenger transport markets, they added.
Waberer’s sales revenue increased by 7 percent to 757 million euros last year, while EBIT (operating profit) increased by 5 percent to 45 million euros. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) jumped above 100 million euros for the first time in the company’s history, to 102 million euros, which is 7 percent higher than the 2023 level. Profit after tax, calculated without the effect of exchange rates, increased by 10 percent to 25 million euros.
The company expects sales of 1.7 billion euros and an EBIT indicator exceeding 100 million euros in 2031. Its strategic goal is to become a market-leading complex logistics service provider in the Central and Eastern European region in the medium term, and to this end, 400 million euros will be invested by 2030.
Waberer’s International Plc. shares are listed in the premium category of the Budapest Stock Exchange. The stock closed at 4,490 forints on Friday, and its price has fluctuated between 3,550 and 4,790 forints over the past year.
