People do more to preserve their health during the crisis
Customers appear to be more health-conscious throught the recession: people pay more attention to strenghtening their immune-system and trying to stay fit – says a new GfK LHS HealthCare research carried out in January-March 2009.
Private providers within the health care sector seem to enjoy more trust in the current economic situation, the greatest interest is in the services of eye-doctors. When it comes to the purchase of medicine avcailable without presciption, the greatest change seems to affect the life of pensioners with a low income: 47 percent of them only obtains such medicine if strongly recommended by their GP. Now in the times of recession, people appear to pay more attention to preserving their health and staying fit: 51 percent of the adult population does actively do something to preserve their health and 67 percent is interested in finding out what more they could to in order to remain fit.
