Europe's major airlines transported more passengers
The biggest airlines of Europe transported more passengers in 2015, compared to the year before. The German Lufthansa group in spite of the strikes, reached a record passenger traffic and on the basis of passenger numbers remains the largest airline group on the continent.
The largest expansion in 2015 was reached by the airlines of the International Airlines Group (IAG), the British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus. The number of their passengers increased from 77.9 million to 88.3 million, which is a 9.3 percent expansion in the number of passengers. These airlines also expanded their capacity by 5.1 percent.
