More than two hundred programs in the spring offer of AGORA in Szombathely

AGORA Savaria Nonprofit Kft. is offering more than two hundred programs – including concerts, theater performances, family and children’s programs – in Szombathely over the next two months. The spring cultural events were announced at a press conference in the county seat of Vas on Wednesday.

Soma Horváth, deputy mayor of Szombathely who is also responsible for culture, said: the municipality’s scarce resources can be spent less on culture than in previous years.

Despite this, they are trying to have high-quality cultural events in Szombathely every weekend in spring and summer, and to preserve values. According to his list, these include the anniversary concert of the ISIS Big Band of Szombathely, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, on May 3, the city celebration of Poetry Day on April 11 and World Dance Day on April 29, and the traditional Children’s Arts Festival on April 15.

Zoltán Horváth, AGORA’s executive director, highlighted at the press conference that among the theater productions, the improvisational gastrotheater performance, which the audience can see and “taste” under the title FLÓDNI, stands out. According to him, the play entitled Válaszfalak on May 11 can also be expected to attract serious interest.

Andrea Kiss, head of AGORA’s community culture group, said that an exhibition of children’s drawings submitted for the Óperenciás fairy tale illustration competition will open on April 3 and will be on display at the AGORA Cultural and Sports House until April 27.
