The number of guest nights spent in the EU increased by more than two percent
The number of guest nights spent at tourist accommodation establishments in the European Union (EU) increased by 2.2 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year, reaching 3.1 billion.
The largest increase was registered in Latvia, Lithuania and Malta. In Hungary, the growth was 3.8 percent, the EU’s Statistical Office announced on Wednesday.
According to Eurostat’s report, the number of guest nights at tourist accommodation establishments in the EU has been increasing since 2009, mainly as a result of visiting foreigners. (MTI)
