In Hungary solutions utilising CO2 or propane have primarily gained ground among multinational retail chains, while many domestic companies still opt for the techniques they have used in the past.

Producers are under considerable pressure to swiftly deliver tailored, chain‑specific cooling solutions

Green technology, business efficiency

Epta supports all types of stores with a large selection of products, offering high-performance, energy-efficient, turnkey solutions that ensure outstanding product visibility. EptaTechnica and EptaConcept are the company’s brands available on the market, offering customised retail solutions. Two of their main developments are the LineON and SwitchON platforms. LineON can be used with plug-in and Integral units, while SwitchON offers advanced diagnostics for Remote-type systems.

“Our flagship solution is the Epta LifeCycle programme, which includes two packages: the Main Package that provides traditional services and the Xtend Extended Warranty Program, which gives full access to Epta’s digital diagnostic services”,

explains Tibor Szabó, contracting and after sales manager of EPTA International Kft.

Manufacturers are under significant pressure to deliver unique, retail chain specific refrigeration solutions quickly. Technological progress and demand for smart devices are putting further pressure on the sector to develop.

Compact cooling, global background

CCR is one of the world leaders in commercial refrigeration equipment such as racks, freezers, island solutions, service counters and plug-in types – as well as CO2-based systems like aggregates, cold room evaporators, etc. Partners can choose from three service packages: Core, Enhance and Elite cover hygienic cleaning, preventive maintenance, integration with monitoring systems and access to smart functions. CCR is going to expand its offering in 2025 with the Visicube plug-in island model range.

“This year we are focusing on the introduction of CO2 heat pumps, which will be suitable for heating and if necessary cooling in larger office or residential buildings and complex investments”,

says László Körmöczi, managing director of CCR Kereskedelmi Hűtéstechnika Magyarország és Adriatica.

In the world of commercial refrigeration technology the harmonisation of aesthetics and practicality is more and more important. In the case of smaller stores and discount store chains operating in urban environments the rise of compact, ergonomic units is also reinforced by the phenomenon of proximisation.

In commercial refrigeration, the integration of aesthetics and functionality is gaining ever greater significance

Innovation with German precision

Liebherr covers the entire spectrum of commercial refrigeration: its product range includes racks for stores, deep-freeze chests, freezer islands and upright cabinets, as well as beverage coolers, promotional equipment for campaigns and models suitable for units working with baked goods or food intended for on-site consumption.

emphasises Gábor Kisgyörgy, area sales manager of Liebherr Magyarország Kft.

In recent years the commercial refrigeration sector has been influenced by a number of external factors, forcing market players to adapt significantly, e g. global fluctuations in energy prices, the fragility of supply chains, geopolitical tensions, etc. Meanwhile the European Union has gradually tightened regulations on the use of refrigerants, urging manufacturers to innovate technologically.
