More than half a million forints for a Japanese melon
For the third of the previous record price, ie 220 thousand yen (626 thousand forints), a Densuke melon was sold at the season-opening melon auction in Japan. 71 melons were sold at auction – origo wrote.
At the traditional annual opening auction on the island of Hokkaido, the special fruit with a dark green skin sold out much more expensive last year.
One of the fruits of the symbol of the city of Toma was paid at the auction of the previous year, the highest amount so far, 750 thousand yen (2.1 million forints). (origo)
