Lufthansa has canceled more than a thousand flights
On Tuesday, the German airline Lufthansa canceled more than a thousand flights at the Frankfurt and Munich airports due to the warning strike announced by the ver.di trade union for airport ground service staff during the summer peak period for July 27.
The cancellation of flights will affect around 144,000 passengers in the period from Tuesday to Friday, Lufthansa announced. Already on Tuesday, almost 7,500 passengers were affected due to the cancellation of 47 flights, most of whom would have arrived in Germany on Wednesday on a long-distance flight.
Flights from Bangkok, Singapore, Boston, Denver, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seoul to Munich and connecting flights from Buenos Aires, Johannesburg, Miami and New Delhi to Frankfurt were also affected.
