More than one billion international tourists in 2012
The number of international tourists in 2012, despite the continuing economic uncertainty, increased by 3.8 percent to more than a billion – the Magyar Turizmus (MT) Zrt. announced.
The MT in its Monday communication presents: The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) issued its latest report under the World Tourism Barometer (Volume 11 Advance Release).
The number of international tourist arrivals in 2011 increased by 4.7 percent to 996 million, while the revenue from international tourism increased by 12.3 percent, calculating in USD to 1,042 billion USD (748 billion euros).
Last year 1.035 billion international tourist arrivals were registered, with a a 3.8 percent growth rate. (MTI)
