One year – one billion HUF sale increase at Praktiker Hungary
German do-it-yourself chain Praktiker had gross revenue in Hungary of Ft 47.6 billion in 2007, up from Ft 46.3 billion in 2006.
Last year Praktiker opened two new
stores in Hungary, and renewed the Kecskemét unit. The new
Kaposvar store is 6,400 sqam, Vecses developing costed HUF 1.6
billion. In this new store company showed Praktinfo handscanner, a
new appliance which can inform the user in time of shopping. The
Vecses unit is a high tech store with electronic labels, internet
terminals, touch screens etc.
Prkatiker expects to open its 18th in
Békécsaba (SE Hungary) and its 19th in Székesfehérvár
(NW Hungary) this year. Company plans to open a further 2-3 stores
in the mid-term.
