More than 6,300 tons of tobacco grown last year in Hungary
In Hungary, a total of 6343 tons of tobacco was produced in 2016 on 3366 hectares. Compared to the figures from two years ago the average yield increased, while area and yield decreased – accoring to the annual production report published by the Hungarian National Association of Tobacco Growers (MADOSZ).
Accoring to the summary, published on the www.madosz.hu site, the Virginia tobacco was produced on 2631, while Burley was grown on 735 hectares. A total of 4803 tons was produced from the Virginia tobacco type and 1540 tons from Burley. (MTI)
